Towry Hires CIO From Aberdeen

UK-based wealth management firm Towry has hired Dr Robert Dawkins from Aberdeen Asset Management as its chief investment advisor.

Dr Dawkins, who takes up his role in September, was previously head of multi-manager at Aberdeen, and has also been managing director at RBS Asset Management and head of alternative investment management at Coutts, the private bank owned by RBS.

Towry, formerly known as Towry Law, recently acquired Edward Jones and rebranded the combined entity as Towry. Currently jointly owned by its employees and private equity firm Palamon Capital Partners, Towry’s chief executive Andrew Fisher, who owns 20 per cent of the firm, recently spoke in the media about the possibility of listing over the next 18 months.

The firm manages about £5 billion ($7.3 billion) in client assets and employs around 700 staff.
