City of London based law firm Simmons & Simmons, one of the few left with a private client offering, has axed its four-lawyer private capital team. Caroline Garnham and her team of three assistants will transfer to Lawrence Graham, where private client work accounts for 10 per cent of the firm's £60 million ($112 million) turnover, in the early autumn. Simmons & Simmons’ renewed focus on banks and corporate means her practice no longer fits into its business strategy. "We act for a wide range of clients, from multinational companies to entrepreneurial clients, so we see a strong link between private capital and our corporate work," said Lawrence Graham managing partner Penny Francis.
