Swiss Trusts Services Firm Expands With Hire From UK

John Sinclair, formerly of UK private bank Duncan Lawrie in London, has joined Amas Trust Services in Geneva as director of trusts and estate planning.
ATS, a sister company of Amas Bank and based at the address in Geneva’s business district, is part of the Indian-based Hinduja Group where it has hitherto served the wealthy Hinduja and other families through traditional family office and other support services.
The Hinduja Group now wish to fully leverage their expertise in this area through the provision of a global multi-family office platform and Mr Sinclair has joined the group’s team in Switzerland to enhance the depth of professional support and advice to its clients and to develop the new offering in all areas.
“It is very exciting to have joined the team at Amas to develop this offering at a time when the multi-family office concept is acknowledged as one of the growing areas in the wealth management space, particularly out of jurisdictions such as Switzerland where both fiscal and other legal hurdles, including the historical lack of recognition of succession planning concepts such as trusts, are being cleared away,” Mr Sinclair told WealthBriefing.
The Hinduja Group is an investment and banking group and has activities across three core areas: investment banking, international trading and global investments.
It employs over 30,000 people and has a presence on all continents.
