Swiss Bank Names New CEO

Switzerland’s BZ Bank Aktiengesellschaft has named Nils Engel as its new chief executive, replacing Manuel Ebner who departs at the end of April.

Mr Engel joined BZ Bank in 2000 as an equity analyst and for the last five years has lead the bank’s investment research team. Prior to joining BZ Bank, he worked as an M&A advisor at Helbling CFT International.

Mr Ebner, who became CEO in 2006, is leaving BZ Bank to become partner in an investment company based in Pfäffikon in the Swiss Canton of Schwyz.

BZ Bank was founded in 1985 under the name BZ Bank Zürich Aktiengesellschaft. Susequently, the bank relocated from Zurich to Wilen bei Wollerau in Canton Schwyz in 1997.

BZ Bank offers wealth management and advisory services, securities trading, equities brokerage and asset management, along with corporate finance activities and M&A advice.

The bank is 60 per cent-owned by Rosmarie and Martin Ebner.
