State Street Taps Ex-Citigroup Asia CEO For International Role
The new international business head will initially work from Hong Kong.
State Street,
the US financial services group, has appointed Francisco
Aristeguieta as chief executive for its international business.
He will initially be based in Hong Kong. Aristeguieta, who joins
the company in July, will report to State Street president and
CEO, Ron O’Hanley, and become a member of its management
committee.
Prior to this, Aristeguieta was at Citigroup as CEO of its Asia
business. Before that, he served as head of Citigroup’s business
in Latin America and before that led its transaction services
group in Latin America encompassing securities servicing, trade
and cash management, and was vice chairman for Banco de Chile.
His many non-profit and industry group board appointments include
The Asia Society, Junior Achievement Americas, and The American
Chambers of Commerce of Latin America.
Aristeguieta will be responsible for all of State Street’s
business activities outside the US.
State Street recently named Ian Martin at its new Asia-Pacific CEO. The firm, which has operated in Asia-Pacific for more than 40 years, has offices worldwide including Australia, Japan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei.
Aristeguita's erstwhile employer, Citigroup, recently talked about growth in the HNW business segment for Asia.
