Senior Independent Director To Stand Down From Role At UK's Rathbone Brothers

The UK wealth management house has made a number of board level appointments.

UK-based investment manager Rathbone Brothers  has announced senior independent director and remuneration committee chairman David Harrel is to stand down from his role after the company’s annual general meeting on 11 May.

Harrel has spent nine years in the role but has opted not to stand for re-election. The company will look to appoint a replacement senior independent director in due course.

Before Rathbones, he was one of the founding partners of SJ Bergwin in 1982, becoming a senior partner in 1992 before leaving in 2006.

Non-executive director Sarah Gentleman will take over as chair of the remuneration committee.

Gentleman joined the Rathbone Brothers' board in 2015. She started out at McKinsey and Company before working for several years in the telecoms sector, latterly as chief financial officer of LCR Telecom.
