SG Hambros Opens UK Regional Base

SG Hambros Bank, part of SG Private Banking, now operates from its new regional office in Yorkshire, from which it will deliver wealth management services to high net worth individuals in the North of England.

The team of four bankers and an assistant private banker, led by Bev Smalley, will focus on developing relationships with key clients and intermediaries in the Yorkshire area. Despite the challenging times, SG Hambros says it is dedicated to increasing a more visible regional presence and emphasises its commitment to the North.

Through the new branch, high net worth individuals will have local access to the bank's investment products and financial services, while SG Hambros also intends to assist the local entrepreneurial business community and private clients with their growth, liquidity and tax issues.

SG Hambros considers the Leeds area to be the financial backbone of Yorkshire, and the city is expected to be a key driver in wealth creation for the area. The promotion of Leeds as a financial centre, second only to London, will boost the attractiveness of the region to start-up companies and new business, making it the natural choice for a regional office, SG Hambros said.

The private bank already operates from four bases in London, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar and a network of regional offices throughout the UK. This new regional office is part of SG Private Banking’s expansion worldwide. It recently strengthened its presence in France with the opening of a private banking centre in Lille and has several local networks of offices in Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, India and the Middle East.
