Royal London Appoints New CIO From Kames Capital

Royal London Asset Management, the UK mutual life and pensions firm, has appointed Piers Hillier as Chief Investment Officer to expand its investment capabilities.

Royal London Asset Management, the UK mutual life and pensions firm, has appointed Piers Hillier as chief investment officer. 

Hillier succeeds Robert Talbut who will leave the organisation at the end of December after ten years to pursue other interests.

He joins on 5th January next year and is responsible for driving forward RLAM’s investment capabilities and new business. 

Hillier joins the business from Kames Capital, where he has worked since 2012 as head of International equities. It is his third time as chief investment officer, following on from his time spent at LV= Asset Management and West LB Asset Management in the role.

The business reported new external business inflows of £1.32 billion ($2.08 billion) for quarter two this year compared with £308 million in the same period last year.
