Raymond James Recruits $1.6 Million Team To Pittsburgh Independent Channel

Raymond James Financial Services has added a new team of advisors in Pittsburgh to its independent broker-dealer division, led by Winfield Smathers and Fred Miller.

The team operates as Shorebridge Wealth Management, an independent Pittsburgh-based wealth manager.

Smathers and Miller joined from Pennsylvania-headquartered brokerage firm Hunter Associates, where they managed more than $350 million in client assets and had annual fees and commissions of $1.6 million.

In addition to Miller and Smathers, Shorebridge Wealth Management consists of managing director Dean Kartsonas, managing director Kathleen Kartsonas, financial advisor Kyle Balliet, and registered associate Dena Karsin.

Through its three broker/dealer subsidiaries, Raymond James Financial has more than 6,200 financial advisors serving more than 2.4 million accounts in more than 2,500 locations throughout the US, Canada and overseas.

Raymond James had total assets under management of $52.7 billion in May 2013, up 32.1 per cent on May 2012.
