Rathbones Appoints Equity Research Head
The UK-based wealth and investment manager has made a senior hire from rival firm Investec Wealth & Investment.
Rathbones has appointed Sanjiv Tumkur to the new role of head of equity research.
Tumkur joins from Investec Wealth & Investment, where he was a senior equity analyst, primarily covering large caps across the UK, Europe and the US. He brings 20 years of experience in research and fund management, having previously worked for Morgan Grenfell (later Deutsche Asset Management) and Alliance Bernstein.
Based in London, he will report to Elizabeth Savage, the company’s head of research. He will be responsible for developing and promoting Rathbones’ equity investment philosophy and process.
“Sanjiv’s extensive experience in stock analysis and selection will prove invaluable, not only now but in the years ahead as our research capability expands,” said Savage.
Last week, the London-listed company appointed Martin Lunt as chief information officer.
At the end of 2015, Rathbones managed £29.2 billion ($37.7 billion) of client funds on behalf of private clients, charities and trustees.
