Rathbone Brothers Continues To Expand Scottish Footprint
The UK-listed wealth management firm has appointed an investment director to its Edinburgh office as expansion in Scotland rolls on.
Rathbone Investment Management, part of UK-listed Rathbone Brothers, has appointed Cherie Hamoudi as an investment director within its Edinburgh office, while the firm prepares to open a new office in Glasgow.
Hamoudi joins Rathbones from Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, where she has spent the last six as a vice president. At Rathbones, Hamoudi will be responsible for managing portfolios for private clients and their trusts, self-invested personal pensions and charities.
Hamoudi started her career at stockbroker Torrie & Co, after which she spent a decade at Albyn Investments – which was acquired by Rathbones in 1998. She then joined the private client law firm Turcan Connell, where she was a senior investment manager responsible for managing discretionary portfolios. Hamoudi is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute and a chartered wealth manager. She will report to David Macaulay, Rathbones’ regional director in Edinburgh.
“Rathbones’ operations in Scotland account for a significant proportion of our overall assets under management. Our Edinburgh office is a major hub for the business. Despite this scale, we remain focused on our primary aim of providing a highly personalised, high quality investment service. Over her 26 years working with private clients, Cherie has accumulated invaluable expertise and she thoroughly understands their expectations and how they can be best met,” said Macaulay.
“Cherie joins Rathbones as we prepare to open our new office in Glasgow. This continuation of the business’s strong organic growth is not only further testament to our commitment to providing on-the-ground resource where required, but also underlines the importance of Scotland to Rathbones as a whole,” Macaulay added.
