RC Brown Poaches Towry Investment Director
The Bristol-based discretionary portfolio manager, which serves both institutional and private clients, has added to its 10-strong investment team.
RC Brown has appointed Towry’s Neil Whelan as an investment manager.
Whelan joins from Towry Asset Management, where he held the role of investment director in its Bristol office. There, he managed clients in the firm’s bespoke portfolio service and led an investment team managing assets of over £90 million ($113 million). Before Towry, he was investment director at Principle Investment Management, responsible for over 100 clients.
In his new position, Whelan will work alongside chief executive Alan Beaney and head of managed funds Glenn Meyer.
“We are absolutely delighted to secure someone of Neil’s experience and calibre at this stage in our firm’s development, with discretionary assets now exceeding £100 million and group assets under admin and management of close to £225 million,” said Beaney.
