Old Mutual Global Investors, the asset management arm of the UK's Old Mutual Wealth, has announced a new investment solutions team.
Old Mutual Global Investors has created a new investment solutions team to be headed up by UK-based Old Mutual Wealth's Stewart Cazier as part of its multi-asset growth drive.
Old Mutual Wealth's current chief operating officer of distribution, Cazier, will move over to OMGI to lead the new team as head of investment solutions. He will join the executive committee and report to the division's chief executive, Julian Ide.
The team will provide investment expertise to Old Mutual Wealth’s range of distribution channels, as well as externally.
Cazier will work alongside investment director Paul Simpson, who will oversee portfolio managers within the team.
As part of the restructure, Old Mutual Wealth's investment solutions team will move over to join the new team under OMGI, the company said.
Meanwhile, OMGI's established investment solutions portfolio management team, led by John Ventre, will work on new solutions, while retaining responsibility of their fund range. Danny Knight has been appointed as head of investment solutions directors of the new team, and will report to Cazier.
“This is a significant development for Old Mutual Global Investors putting the investment solutions team right at the heart of Old Mutual Wealth’s drive to further strengthen customer offerings and leverage growing opportunities in multi-asset investment through Old Mutual Wealth and external third party channels,” said Ide.
He added that the new structure will crop lines of communication, introduce a multi-disciplinary approach and enable an improved customer experience across the value chain.
As of the end of 2014, Old Mutual Global Investors managed £21 billion ($32 billion) of assets.
