Ogier Wins Offshore Law Firm of the Year Award

Ogier has been named “Offshore Law Firm of the Year” by The Lawyer magazine at its annual awards ceremony, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, winning over a short list of five other firms. The completion of the merger with BVI-based WSmiths, and the firm’s consequent growth into the Asian market, were mentioned as key developments for the firm, which now employs more than 600 staff in nine locations. The nominated firms were selected from hundreds of entries by an advisory panel of external judges made up of some of the biggest names in the City, together with the editorial team at The Lawyer. Chairman of Ogier, Jonathan White, said: “The last 18 months have been pivotal for the group, both in terms of the level of growth we have experienced and the recognition we have received through awards from professional bodies such as the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and publications such as Chambers, and Legal Week. To now earn The Lawyer’s ‘Offshore Law Firm of the Year Award’ is an accolade of which we are immensely proud and it is a credit to the quality and expertise of all Ogier staff across the group.”
