Guernsey law firm Ogier has appointed Nick Kershaw as managing partner, taking over from Sarah Fitz, who has had that role since 2000. Mr Kershaw joined as a partner at Ogier from Clifford Chance ten years ago: for the past five, he has been on the group executive and group strategy boards. He is also chairman of the legal sub-committee of the Jersey Funds Association and was involved in the introduction of the Jersey Expert Fund. The timing is significant, as the merger between Ogier and WSmith (formerly Walker Smiths) will be effective from 1 February 2007.
