Ogier, the Jersey-based legal firm, is opening up an office in Dublin to meet client demand. This expansion means the firm now operates from six jurisdictions, including Jersey, Guernsey, London and the Cayman Islands. Paul Willing, head of Ogier Fiduciary Services team, said: “Capital markets activity is booming in Ireland. It’s attractive to corporate clients, such as German banks and major European financial institutions because it is tax efficient and part of the European Union.” Ogier has established its presence in Ireland through partnering with Pegasus, a niche corporate services provider. The new Irish operation will be supported in the provision of administration services by the long established Ogier team in Jersey.
