Operating profit at Zurich-based Nomura Bank (Switzerland) fell 23 per cent to SFr5.7 million in the first half ended 30 September 2006. Revenues fell 6 per cent to SFr16.1 million, and operating costs increased 7 per cent to SFr10.4 million. Net profit fell 38 per cent to SFr4.4 million. The bank, which also has a branch in Geneva, employs around 50 people and is owned by Nomura Securities of Tokyo.
