Former South Africa Education Minister, Kader Asmal, has been named president designate of the Financial Action Task Force, the anti-money laundering organisation, as from next month. Mr Asmal is an African National Congress member of parliament, and the new appointment is not full time. He will remain chairman of the South African National Assembly defence portfolio committee.
