New Head of Credit To Join Gartmore

International asset manager Gartmore has said that John Anderson is to join the firm’s fixed income team as head of credit later this year.
On taking up this position, Mr Anderson will assume management of Gartmore’s Corporate Bond, Institutional Corporate Bond, High Yield Corporate Bond and SICAV Sterling Corporate Bond funds. He is to be based in London and will report to Dominic Rossi, Gartmore’s chief investment officer.
“[Mr Anderson’s] appointment will play a key role in further developing our fixed income capability - we look forward to welcoming him to Gartmore,” said Mr Rossi.
Mr Anderson joins Gartmore from Rensburg Fund Management, where he managed its Corporate Bond Trust for nine years. His former roles also include head of fixed interest and treasury at NPI and senior fund manager at Co-Operative Bank.
At 31 December 2008 Gartmore managed assets totalling over £18 billion ($26 billion). Headquartered in London, the firm also has offices in Boston, Frankfurt, Madrid and Tokyo.
Gartmore is owned by private investment equity firm Hellman & Friedman, and Gartmore’s senior fund managers and executives.
