New Global Head Of Regulatory Strategy At US Banking Giant

JP Morgan Chase has announced that Tim Ryan is re-joining the firm as global head of regulatory strategy and policy.

Ryan, who was previously chief executive of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, will report to Matt Zames, co-chief operating officer for JPMorgan Chase.

"More than at any time in our history, regulatory strategy and policies around the world are affecting our business and how we serve clients. Tim has both a deep knowledge of these policies and the government representatives formulating them, and also knows our businesses and executives extremely well from his 16 years at the firm," Zames said in a statement.

Before joining SIFMA in 2008, Ryan was vice chairman of investment banking for financial institutions and governments at JP Morgan. His previous roles include director of the Office of Thrift Supervision in the US Department of the Treasury, partner of the law firm Reed, Smith, Shaw & McClay and solicitor of labor at the US Department of Labor.
