Merrill Lynch Announces Senior Level Promotions

Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management has made a pair of senior level promotions for the EMEA region, naming Tamer Rashad head of Middle East wealth management and Amir Sadr as head of the institutional client and family office groups.

Rashad is currently based in New York as head of global relationship intelligence within the GWM division and will relocate to Dubai to take up his new role. He previously worked in the office of the president and chief operating officer at Merrill, where he was instrumental in establishing the firm’s global client coverage group.

Sadr, currently head of Middle East wealth management Dubai, will relocate to London to take up his new role. Prior to assuming his current position, Sadr was head of the Middle East offshore institutional client and family office groups. In his new role Sadr will focus on developing the coverage model for ultra high net worth clients in the EMEA region as the business collaborates with Merrill Lynch’s global banking and markets division, the firm said in a statement.

In other high profile moves at Merrill Lynch, at the end of last month came news of the departure of Nick Tucker, managing director of the firm’s global private client group and market leader for the UK & Ireland.

Tucker is said to have relinquished his role at Merrill in order to take some time out of the industry and it is as yet unknown whether he will be taking up a new role with another firm.

Adam Horowitz, meanwhile, has taken on the role of head of UK, Ireland and Israel on an interim basis.
