Global consulting firm Mercer names new head for ASEAN business.

Mercer, the global consulting firm with a wealth advisory practise, has appointed a new managing director and market leader for its ASEAN region coverage.

Lisa Sun succeeds Su-Yen Wong, who has been named senior advisor for Mercer and Oliver Wyman, its sister company. In her new role, Sun joins the regional leadership team and reports to Gaurav Garg, regional president for growth markets.

Prior to Mercer, Sun was the head of protection proposition and senior actuary for Asia-Pacific and Middle East as Zurich Insurance Group. Before that, she held several senior roles at AIG in Asia and Liberty Mutual Group in the US.

Meanwhile, Wong, who has just been transferred, is expected to be working closely with both Mercer and Oliver Wyman staff to develop business opportunities across the firms' consulting strategies. She will also continue as chairman for Singapore at Marsh & McLennan, Mercer's wholly-owned subsidiary. Wong reports to Garg, but also to Christian Edelmann, who leads Asia-Pacific for Oliver Wyman.
