Zurich-based Credit Suisse has restructured its US private banking activities with the creation of three regional divisions, each of which has its own head. Matt Gorman, Peter Skoglund and Carey Timbrell become heads of USA East, USA Central and USA West respectively. They previously managed Credit Suisse's branches in New York, Chicago and San Franscisco respectively and report to Anthony DeChillis, who oversees the group's private banking operations in the Americas. In addition Gary Neuser, who oversaw Credit Suisse's US domestic private banking activities, becomes chairman of private banking in the Americas, a new position. Here he will focus on developing the firm's private banking activities in Latin America as well as the US. The firm has also appointed Silvan Wysss as chief operating officer for private banking in the Americas. Over the past year the relationship manager headcount has increased by 37 per cent to 289 and the firm has around $75 billion of client assets under management in the US, according to a statement from the bank.
