London & Capital Creates New Role Of Chief Operating Officer, Hires Ex-Coutts Man

A UK-headquartered wealth management firm has created the new position of chief operating officer, recruiting a former Coutts senior executive for the role.

Wealth manager London & Capital has hired Guy McGlashan as chief operating officer to drive growth in its key business areas.

McGlashan was previously COO at Coutts & Co's international ultra high net worth private client business.

The new role encompasses responsibility for finance, marketing, operations, compliance and systems across the business, London & Capital said in a statement.

“In comparison to much of the industry, we have sought to retain a compact group of clients, to ensure we provide each client with an experienced and highly personal level of service. The appointment of Guy enables us to continue in this effort, creating capacity for many of our partners to focus solely on managing the affairs of our clients,” said Daniel Freedman, managing director of London & Capital.

Last year, the independently-owned firm launched a suite of global model portfolios. Click here for more information on this story. London & Capital has $4.3 billion of assets under management. The firm is well-known for its work with individuals with cross-border interests, such as those with assets and income in the US and UK, and has played a high-profile role in discussing the impact of US extra-territorial tax powers via the FATCA Act.
