Kleinwort Benson Appoints Head Of Tax Services

UK private bank Kleinwort Benson has appointed Jeremy Croysdill to lead its newly unified tax function.

As head of tax services, Mr Croysdill oversees the provision of services ranging from tax compliance to tax advisory. He is based in London and reports to Natalie Merrens, head of product advisory.

“The new team will work with the private bankers based in London and in our network of regional offices and will be able to more easily draw on the depth of knowledge and experience that each individual has within the unified team,” said Mr Croysdill.

Mr Croysdill has been with Kleinwort Benson since 2005, most recently as part of the product advisory team. Prior to joining the bank he worked at accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward, latterly assisting in the development of the firm’s private client group in Chelmsford.

The appointment of Mr Croysdill follows that of Chris Burton as head of private wealth management international earlier this month. In this newly-created role, Mr Burton, who was recruited from the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, has overall responsibility for Kleinwort’s private wealth management operations across the Channel Islands.

Kleinwort Benson operates from offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Guernsey, Jersey, Leeds, London, Manchester and Newbury. The bank’s private wealth management arm consists of both the private fiduciary administration business, and a team of fiduciary, intermediary and high net worth relationship managers based across Guernsey, Jersey and London.

Kleinwort Benson, which is a subsidiary of Dresdner Bank, has assets under administration of £6.04 billion (around $8.6 billion), as at 31 December 2008.
