UK investment house Kames Capital has appointed Craig Bonthron as an investment manager.

He joins the global equity team and reports to Pauline McPherson, the co-manager of the Kames global equity fund.

Bonthron joins from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership where he was investment director global equities and was the joint fund manager of the global sustainability equity and global Islamic equity funds.

In his new role Bonthron will analyse stocks for the global equity fund, while working with Kames’ regional equity specialists to ensure their best investment ideas are represented in its global equity portfolios.

"Craig brings 12 years of experience in global equities where he has been both fund manager and an analyst for a number of different strategies and geographies. This experience leaves him well placed to seek out and analyse good ideas for our global equity funds," said Stephen Jones, chief investment officer.
