Kames Capital, the UK investment house, has appointed Stephen Adams as head of equities, part of a run of moves at the company in recent weeks.
Adams, who was previously head of UK equities, will take on the role with immediate effect and will be responsible for leading Kames' 26-strong team of UK and global equity specialists, the firm said in a statement. Adams has 27 years’ experience, 14 years of which have been at Kames Capital. He was appointed head of UK equities in April 2004.
He will remain lead manager of the flagship Kames UK Equity Fund. The firm said this situation fits with Kames’ policy of team heads retaining portfolio management responsibilities.
“Our UK and international equities managers already operate with a shared philosophy and a unified team under Stephen will strengthen our research capabilities and enhance the sharing of investment ideas,” Stephen Jones, chief investment officer, said.
Last week, Kames Capital said that Luc Simoncini had joined as a product specialist and was previously at Dublin-based Mediolanum International Funds. He reports to Adams and will work across the group’s range of equity funds. In November, Kames Capital appointed Craig Bonthron as an investment manager.
