Kames Capital Continues Run Of Hires

The investment house continues to make appointments.

Kames Capital, an investment house with offices in London and Edinburgh, has appointed former Legal & General Investment Management senior figure Andy Kelly as business development manager. He will be based in London.

In a new role reporting to Peter Ball, director of institutional business, Kelly will focus on introducing the firm’s cash and liquidity solutions to corporate treasurers, pension funds, banks and insurance companies.

The move represents the latest in a number of appointments by the firm in recent weeks. For example, it has added two co-managers to a pair of its funds. The funds are the Kames Strategic Bond Fund and the Kames Strategic Global Bond Fund. (See here and here for more details of appointments.)

At his previous role at LGIM, Kelly was head of corporate and financial institutions. Before that, he was head of liquidity distribution at that firm, where he established a third-party liquidity distribution business. In a 27-year career, Kelly has worked in treasury-related roles for Fidelity International, RBC Dexia Investor Services, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Barclays.

Kelly will work with Kames Capital’s head of treasury Brian Jack, who joined from Ignis in 2015 to lead the cash and liquidity team, which oversees over £5 billion ($7.3 billion) on behalf of insurance and third-party clients.
