Kames Capital Continues Hiring Spree

UK-based investment manager Kames Capital has appointed Peter Ball as director of its institutional business and head of business development at its parent Aegon Asset Management.

UK-based investment manager Kames Capital has appointed Peter Ball as director of its institutional business and head of business development at its parent, Aegon Asset Management. The move comes after a string of hires at the firm.

Ball will report to chief executive Martin Davis and will assume the dual role with immediate effect. He worked with Kames in March 2014 as a consultant, advising on strategic opportunities in the institutional market.

In his new capacity, Ball will focus on business growth through Kames's absolute return, equity, ethical, fixed income, multi-asset and property capabilities, while seeking opportunities for the Aegon Asset Management group as it develops its businesses globally.

Ball has previously served on the board of JLT Employee Benefits and also led the UK institutional business at JP Morgan Asset Management for 10 years.

Among recent appointments to the firm is that of Mark Benbow to its fixed income team last week. Click here for more on this hire.

Kames Capital manages £8.8 billion ($13.3 billion) in segregated and pooled portfolios on behalf of institutional clients.
