London-based Kames
Capital has appointed two new asset managers to its property
management team following the launch of its property income fund
last month.
Iain Corker joins on 6 May from DTZ’s retail asset management
team, where he was a senior surveyor. He will work with Phil Bach
and Helen Batten on the Active Value strategies.
Chris Munday will join on 9 June from Valad Europe, where he was
a portfolio manager. He will work with Sarah Cockburn on the AUK
fund.
The Kames Capital Property Income Fund was launched last month
and is the company's first entry into the wider retail commercial
property market.
Managed by David Wise and Alex Walker, it aims to pick assets
outside of the prime London markets in the £2 million ($3.3
million) to £10 million price bracket and deliver an estimated
yield of 6 per cent a year.
The fund will also invest in indirect property and equities
including property companies, real estate investment trusts and
specialist property funds as well as cash.
Kames currently has £53 billion under management and its foray
into retail commercial property follows the launch of its
Diversified Income Fund for institutional and retail investors
earlier this year.
