Kames Capital Appoints Joint Fund Manager

Kames Capital, the London-based investment manager, has promoted Peter Shaw to joint manager of its UK Equity Fund.
Previously Shaw was support manager for the fund. He will now manage the fund with Stephen Adams, head of UK equity, from 1 January 2012.
The promotion adds to his current responsibilities as manager of the institutional Kames UK Equity High Alpha Fund and as joint manager with Audrey Ryan on the Kames UK Opportunities Fund.
This is the most recent in a raft of appointments and expansionary moves after the company rebranded from AEGON Asset Management.
In November Kames Capital added Greg Mackay to its government bonds team; he assumed specific responsibility for derivatives, and now reports to the firm's head of fixed income, Stephen Jones. Kames also opened an office in Hong Kong and hired James Cooper as head of business development in Asia. He joined from Liminal Image, which provides consulting services to the financial services industry.
Earlier, towards the end of October Kames strengthened its property fund management division by hiring part of ING REIM’s property multi-manager team. Mark Bunney, Matt Day and Tony Yu now report to Phil Clark, head of property and investment, supporting the existing team to create a range of indirect property investments.
