Kames Boosts Fixed Income Team

The UK investment manager has made a senior appointment in Scotland.

Kames Capital has hired Rory Sandilands as investment manager within its fixed income team.

Sandilands previously worked at Goldman Sachs, where he spent a decade as an executive director in the credit sales team. Before that, he was vice president in fixed income credit sales at Morgan Stanley.

Based in Kames' Edinburgh office, he will work with the fixed income team to cover the absolute return bond franchise. He will report to investment manager Stephen Snowden.

“We now have five absolute return bond products, with rapidly expanding assets under management. We will utilise Rory’s deep knowledge of the credit market to further enhance our offering and maintain our capacity for continued growth,” said David Roberts, head of fixed income at Kames Capital.

Earlier this month, Kames appointed David Ennett to lead its high yield team, while Phil Milburn returned to the company to become head of investment strategy.

From Edinburgh and London, Kames managed £57.8 billion ($81.8 billion) on behalf of clients including financial institutions, wealth managers, family offices and financial advisors as at the end of March 2016.
