Kames Appoints Head Of Active Value Property

The investment manager has boosted its commercial property investment capabilities.
Kames Capital has appointed Phillip Bach as head of active value property, a newly-created role.
Bach, who has 23 years’ industry experience, joined Kames Capital in 2012 from ING Real Estate, where he was co-head of the direct segregated accounts team. Prior to this, he worked as an asset manager for Jones Lang LaSalle.
Based in London, Bach will be responsible for all investment-related activity associated with Kames’ active value fund range, which has more than £800 million ($1 billion) of client assets. He will report to the firm’s property investment director, David Wise.
The range targets the secondary commercial property market, particularly properties in the £5 million to £15 million price bracket. It comprises the open ended Kames Active Value Property Fund, as well as the closed ended UK Active Value Property Unit Trust and Active Value Property Fund II.
“With over two decades of experience, Philip has enjoyed an extensive and distinguished career in the industry and his promotion reflects the great work he has done for our property team in the four years he has been with us,” said Wise.
