Kames Adds To European Distribution Team

The UK investment house has boosted its European business development capabilities.
Kames Capital has hired Martin Weiss as business development manager within its European wholesale distribution team.
Weiss, a native German speaker, joins from Pioneer Investments. There, he was a client and sales relationship manager responsible for German, Austrian and Italian clients and prospects. Previously, he held client relations roles at Legal & General Investment Management and Hermes Fund Managers.
Based in London, Weiss will report to Richard Dixon, head of Continental European wholesale at Kames. Weiss will cover accounts across Germany, including wealth managers, financial advisors, fund-of-funds, family offices, fund platforms and banks.
“Martin has built up a solid contact base in Germany. This knowledge of the market, along with his great client relationships and skills will allow us to continue to develop our client base in the country,” said Dixon.
The appointment follows swiftly from that of Robin Black as an investment manager within the company’s Edinburgh-based equities team.
From Edinburgh and London, Kames managed £57.8 billion ($74.6 billion) of assets as at the end of March 2016.
