Kames Adds Business Development Manager

The UK investment house has boosted its European sales capabilities with an appointment from a rival firm.

Kames Capital has hired Elena Delfino as business development manager within its European wholesale distribution team.

Delfino joins from Neuberger Berman, where she worked within the company’s sales team covering Spain, Portugal and Italy. Before that, she was a sales and account manager at Bloomberg, where she managed client relationships across Italy. A native Italian speaker, Delfino is also fluent in Spanish.

Based in London, she will cover accounts across Italy and Spain, which includes the firm’s client base of wealth managers, financial advisors, family offices, fund platforms and banks. She will report to Richard Dixon, Kames' head of continental European wholesale.

“Elena’s understanding of the Spanish and Italian markets, together with her expertise and enthusiasm mean she will be crucial to the distribution team’s efforts as we continue to grow our client base in Spain and Italy,” said Dixon.

The company has been busy bulking up its teams of late. Last week, for instance, Graeme Sharpe joined the multi-asset team as a product specialist while Rory Sandilands became investment manager within its fixed income team.

From Edinburgh and London, Kames managed £57.8 billion ($86 billion) on behalf of clients including financial institutions, wealth managers, family offices and financial advisors as at the end of March 2016.
