London-based Janus Capital International, the international arm of Janus Capital Group, has appointed Alan Glendon as sales director, UK financial institutions for the firm’s EMEA business, based in London.

Glendon, with 15 years’ frontline experience, joins Janus from Premier Asset Management, where he was head of UK discretionary sales. Before that, he served as sales director at F&C Asset Management and previously at Investec Asset Management.

Reporting to Nigel Austin, chief operating officer for the UK and EMEA regions, in his new role Glendon will be responsible for leading the firm’s continued push into the UK financial institutions market.

Janus Capital Group manages $163.8 billion in assets for shareholders, clients and institutions around the globe, as at 31 March 2013.
