JP Morgan Makes Major Private Banking Hire In France

JP Morgan has appointed John Pietri - a veteran of Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking - as an executive director and senior banker for its private banking team in France.

Pietri spent 13 years with SocGen CIB, where he was most recently a director in the M&A team in Paris. Before joining SocGen he was a manager at Bossard Consultants for five years. In his new role he reports to  Jean-Baptiste Douin, head of JP Morgan Private Bank in France.

Despite the Alpine state’s well-documented troubles over its historic banking secrecy laws, JP Morgan has said that Switzerland remains an attractive location for the bank due to the country’s strong currency, minimal inflation, prudent central bank and its reputation for high-quality service.
