It’s A Wrap For Ken Lewis At BoA With TARP Repayments On The Horizon

Ken Lewis, chief executive officer and president of Bank of America, will retire on 31 December 2009 as CEO and as a director. He has been chief executive officer of the bank since 2001.
The Board has said it will “continue ongoing planning” to ensure his successor is selected by that date.
Mr Lewis gave among his reasons for the timing of the decision that “we are in position to begin to repay the federal government's TARP investments."
