International Law Firm Expands NY Private Client Office With Rival's Team

The international law firm McDermott Will & Emery has expanded its New York private client office with a team of lawyers from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, including estate planning attorney Carlyn McCaffrey.

As well as McCaffrey, Amy Heller, Elyse Kirschner, Laura Hirschfeld, Christopher Parker, Shu-Ping Shen, and Dena Wolf all join McDermott. Kirschner is currently a partner at Weil.

McCaffrey previously chaired Weil's estate planning practice, where she advised high net worth clients on estate tax matters and business planning. In her new role she will join McDermott partner Henry Christensen as a co-head of the New York Private Client Practice Group.

McDermott's private client practice is made up of around 60 lawyers and represents families and individuals, familiy offices, closely held businesses, foundations, estates, trust and special purpose asset transfer and investment management entities in the US and worldwide.
