India's Answer To Warren Buffet Pledges A Quarter Of His Wealth

Billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, often referred to as India's Warren Buffet on account of his canny investment strategies, has said he will give a quarter of his wealth to charity, according to the Economic Times

Besides his investment acumen, Buffett is also known for his philanthropy and campaigning to get other billionaires to donate their money to charitable causes.

However, Jhunjhunwala, who has around $1 billion according to Forbes, said that his decision was personal and has little to do with Buffett's pledge.

Fifty one year old Jhunjhunwala said that he would donate 25 per cent of his wealth and the inspiration has come from his father, who was an income tax official, according to the Economic Times

"I have made a pledge to myself that I shall donate 25 per cent of my wealth in my lifetime. I am already supporting some causes and the other causes will be known once I start supporting them," Jhunjhunwala said.
