HSBC Investments has poached Australian funds executive Nerida Law to head up its expanding multimanager research operation. Ms Law joins HSBC from Mercer Investments in Australia, where she was head of manager research for Australian equities managers. In her new role, titled director, head of Multimanager, Ms Law will move to Hong Kong and report to HSBC Investments’ chief investment officer Leon Goldfield. She will lead the regional multimanager research team and the management of its products and solutions in Asia Pacific. HSBC has a multimanager team of around 40 around the world overseeing $17 billion in multimanaged assets. Chief executive of HSBC Investments Blair Pickerell said multimanager was “one of the fastest growing areas” in fund management around the world. “Having established our multimanager capability for over ten years globally and six years in Asia, HSBC Investments is already working with a wide variety of clients in the region to provide diversified portfolios,” Pickerell said.
