Grant Thornton is appointing a new managing director.

Grant Thornton, the global audit, tax and advisory firm, has appointed Adam Budworth as managing director with effect from 1 April 2016.

He replaces Dave Clark, who is stepping aside after 15 years in the role to concentrate on the firm's local business practice in Guernsey and Jersey.

Cyril Swale also takes up a new role as head of office in Guernsey, the firm said in a statement.

"The firm has enjoyed impressive growth in the last 7 years and the main task is to continue this trend, delivering a distinctive client service and continuing to grow our people. I take over the firm which is in good shape and I look forward to building on the success enjoyed in the past," said Budworth.

Grant Thornton is registered in Jersey.
