Global Private Equity, Property Investment House Names Head Of Asia-Pacific

Global private equity and property investment house Altius Associates has appointed Peter Pfister as a partner and head of Asia-Pacific, to be based in Singapore and reporting to Brad Young, head of investments.
Pfister was previously head of Asia-Pacific for Deutsche Bank’s private equity business, where he spent over seven years. Based in Singapore, he led a team responsible for business development and investment decisions across the region. Previously he had been a vice president of LGT Capital Partners in Switzerland.
His new role is an expanded one, because although the firm had a head of Asia previously, he was based in Richmond as Singapore was only an investment research office and the investment partner could manage it from Richmond.
"The firm plans to move to a full service office (regulatory approval is in process) capable of both fund management and marketing, and this requires a local office head. We are pleased to have secured someone of Peter's calibre for this role," a spokesperson said.
Altius' previous head, who had been based in Richmond, Virginia, took up a role as deputy director of the UCLA endowment late last year. Brad Young, co-CEO and head of investment, based in Richmond, was de facto head of Asia in the interim while the firm searched for a replacement to be based in Singapore.
Altius Associates advises and manages approximately $24 billion in private equity and real assets funds for clients based across Europe, North America and Australia. It has offices in London, Richmond, VA and Singapore.
