Fortis Bank has opened two business centres in Scandinavia – one in Copenhagen and the other in Stockholm. The centres will target medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs in the two countries. In a statement, Karel De Boeck, chief executive of Fortis’ commercial and private banking business said: “These openings are in line with Fortis's pan-European expansion strategy. Fortis aims to become the preferred non-domestic bank for internationally operating companies in Scandinavia.” The Danish team is headed by Christian Andreasen, who joined Fortis in December 2005. He previously held corporate responsibilities at other domestic banks in Denmark, including Forstaedernes Bank and Jyske Bank. The Swedish team is headed by Thomas Wrangdahl, who joined Fortis early in 2006, having previously been at HSH Nordbank.
