San Francisco-based First Republic Bank has appointed Garrett Sokoloff from UBS as a managing director for the New York office.

At UBS, Sokoloff was also based in New York and worked as a managing director and co-head of conduit origination in the real estate finance group. At First Republic he will work with a team providing banking, investment management, trust, brokerage and real estate lending services to the firm's clients. 

Sokoloff's appointment comes just a few days after Luke Peterson was hired for a similar role at the Boston office, as reported here.
