First Republic Appoints Director, Wealth Advisor In NY

First Republic Bank, the California-headquartered private bank and wealth management firm, has named Matt Krusko as a managing director and wealth advisor at its private wealth operation in New York.

Krusko steps in from Bernstein Global Wealth Management where he served as a vice president and financial advisor. Prior to that, he was an attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore and had also worked for then-US senator Joseph Biden. Other politicians for which he worked include former US representative Charles Schumer and US representative Karen Shepherd.

In his new role, he will be providing support for high net worth individuals, their families, foundations, endowments and non-profit organizations.

First Republic has been expanding its presence over the last few months, most recently appointing Dirk ten Grotenhuis and Dale Smith as managing directors for San Francisco and San Diego respectively. As of 30 June 2011, the company records $19.6 billion in wealth management assets under management or administration.
