Fidelity Renames Top-Performing Fund

Fidelity International is to change the name of its UK Opportunities fund to the Fidelity UK Smaller Companies fund in a bid to better reflect its investment approach.

The fund, launched in 2008, is hailed as one of the best performers in the IMA UK Smaller Companies sector, coming third in the performance rankings out of 55 vehicles.

The name change will take effect on 28 September; the fund’s investment objective, portfolio manager and performance benchmark will remain unchanged, the firm said.

The fund, currently worth some £15 million ($24.8 million), is run by Alex Wright.
