Fidante Opens Nordics Office

Fidante Partners, the alternatives arm of Australian investment management firm Challenger, has boosted its European presence.

Fidante Partners has opened an office in Stockholm, Sweden, to meet “strong demand” from asset managers in the Nordic region for alternative investments.

The firm has hired Christian Andersson to spearhead growth in the region. He brings 17 years of industry experience, having worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and SEB Merchant Banking in London.

“Our focus is on matching talented investment managers with demand for alternative investments,” said Phil Peters, managing director of Fidante Partners Europe.

“Since interest in these assets by institutional investors is strong in the Nordic region, it made sense to have a presence there to complement our existing presence in the UK, Australia and the US. We’re expecting that real assets will continue to be a growth area.”

Fidante Partners in Europe offers access to alternative investments in infrastructure, renewables, residential housing, agriculture, asset-backed and residential mortgage-backed securities. It also has a range of alternatives-focused UCITS funds.

Fidante managed $31.8 billion of assets as at 31 March 2016.
