Fast-Growing Calastone Appoints Industry Veteran As Chairman

Calastone, the UK-based transaction network for the mutual funds industry, has appointed Terry Williams, a veteran of the IT industry, as its chairman.

Williams’s career spans more than 30 years, starting in the 1970s when he founded Wilco, a computer services firm.  Between 2002 and 2008, he was also involved with the firm Coexis, a provider of technology solutions for the global securities markets.

As reported last week, Calastone, which has already signed up a raft of clients since the firm was launched in 2008, has opened an office in Luxembourg. The firm says it intends to head to Asia, then Australia, before bringing South Africa and other parts of the world under its domain. In the US, the firm has partnered with SunGard.
