European Wealth Adds Investment Manager

The London-listed wealth manager has expanded its investment team with a new addition from rival firm Towry.

European Wealth has appointed John Scurlock-Davies as an investment manager within in its Wokingham office.

Most recently, Scurlock-Davies was a wealth manager at Towry. Before that, he was an investment executive at Rowan Dartington. He brings 36 years of investment experience, 29 of which he spent at Coutts & Co, before becoming a director, private banking with Credit Suisse and executive director at UBS.

In the new role, Scurlock-Davies will report to John Morton, group chief executive of European Wealth.

“Having been dedicated to managing investors’ wealth for over 30 years, John is extremely well placed to ensure our clients are given the right investment options that help them achieve their financial goals. We’re delighted to welcome him on board,” said Morton.

European Wealth recently reported a pre-tax loss of £500,000 ($660,000) for the first half of 2016, up from a loss of £400,000 a year earlier. Morton, formerly executive chairman, became CEO last month, replacing Rod Gentry, who left the company he helped to found earlier this year.
